What kind of artwork would look good in a female run business?

For decades, I think that women were afraid to show any sort of femininity in the office place for fear that they would not “measure up” to their male counterparts. However, that has shifted in recent years and I love it! Femininity is quite powerful and I think that women all over the globe are embracing it! So, if it were me, I would decorate my female run business with pieces from my Muse collection!

How do I get my child(ren) to develop a love for art?

There are many ways to help children appreciate artwork! First off, I suggest helping them find pieces that interest them. For instance, if your daughter likes mermaids and/or fairies, she might be captivated by some of the prints in my Art Prints section. You can also help them experiment with different colors and different mediums/methods. Seeing how red watercolor can look/feel/act different than a red crayon or red acrylic can really spur a child’s imagination!

What are some tips for designing a feminine office?

I have had clients display my feminine poetic watercolors in their office and tell me how much they love the effect. It makes me beyond happy to hear that! But, I don’t think that you need to stop with female empowering art pieces! I think that you can explore furniture, wall coverings and many more aspects that can really make your office space a creative haven for you! Check out these great ideas on Pinterest!

How do you erase pencil lines in your watercolor paintings?

I don’t always draw a sketch first, but when I do, I always use watercolor pencils. Unlike regular colored pencils or pencils, the watercolor pencil lines will blend away with water. I sometimes may leave the watercolor pencil lines if I like the effect, so be sure to have fun with it and see what style works for you.

Why is watercolor so difficult?

I always have people tell me how difficult watercolor can be. I also used to think watercolor was difficult until I learned how to work with it and not against it. Unlike other mediums, watercolors meant to be loose. While there are some very skillful watercolor artists, watercolor beginners should embrace how unpredictable watercolor can be and try to go with the flow. Remember watercolor always looks different as it dries and the colors blend together, and that’s part of the fun!

What are some tips for using artwork in a nursery or playroom?

A playroom or nursery is a great place to incorporate colorful paintings. Not only will it brighten up the room, but unlike so many baby room themes out there, you can choose artwork that will grow with your child! My watercolor birds or floral letters would make a beautiful addition to any playroom or nursery, and will prevent you from having to constantly update your son or daughter’s room.
